ASM Middle School Team

  Rene first came to ASM his sophomore year in high school, when he was invited to go to Whistler Weekend. It was there he became a Christian and began a Bible study with Kreston Welch and the guys from his room, thus forming the legendary Hardcore Candy (HCC). He has since grown steadily in his understanding and knowledge of the Bible. Before working as the Director of the Middle School, he was a busser at Red Robin for three and a half years and interned for the high school group for two years. He misses both dearly. He recently finished up a double major in Economics and Journalism at the University of Washington, and he will soon pursue his Masters in Divinity. He enjoys Husky football, crispy bacon, long walks on the beach, and reading sports blogs.

Raquelle Grounds is enjoying her second year (of many) in her role as the administrative assistant for middle school, high school, and college ministries. She recently earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business with a concentration in Accounting from UW. Her position on our team gives her an opportunity to use her gifts of administration, organization, and a strong desire to serve and minister to the girls that are involved with ASM. Raquelle is a single mom and enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, Jayne, who is 4 years old.

I am a wife and mother of four. I have been attending ACC for 17 years.
It is an honor and a blast to serve in Middle School!
 

Retired teacher, retired missionary, retired pilot, retired from many other things but ooooh so active with working with kids...my own and those at church. In my spare time I work with Emergency Services Coordinating Agency as a ham radio operator and...almost forgot, I work as a Project Manager for a small commercial construction supply company.

I have been attending Alderwood for six years now. I grew tremendously in my faith through the ASM high school group, and think it is awesome that I get to help teach the middle schoolers how to study the Bible the way I was taught! I am currently going to Everett Community College studying for Mechanical Engineering and work part-time for my high school small group leader. I also love to play sports, sing, and play guitar and you will see me leading worship in the Pit.
I have attended Alderwood since birth and have been involved in ASM the last few years. This is my first year as a middle school leader and I am excited to see how God will use this ministry to bring students closer to Him. I am studying chemistry at Edmonds Community College and work part-time in a music store.
 
 
I have attended Alderwood Community Church for 24 years and have been a Middle School leader for eight years.  I love watching Middle School students grow in their faith, and enjoy the abundant energy of Middle Schoolers.
 
 
 
 
 
I have been attending alderwood since spring of 2009. I have been married to my wife Taira for 18 years. I have two teenagers, Scott age 17, and my daughter, Ciara age 19, who is in college at Whitworth University.
I love golf and play as often as I can. This is my first year in the middle school ministry and I am enjoying getting to know your kids.
 
This is my fourth year as a middle school leader and second year on the worship team. I love mentoring young girls and my deepest desire is to see them grow in Christ.
